table

Today we finished a table that is in Desert Thread. It is a sycamore slab from 400n 500w and has a swamp cypress base that Duane salvaged from a construction site in Florida. The stone infinity joint was made by Katy from Richolite.

Times

Ron George wrote a nice article about the saw mill in the paper today. ARTICLE

We started on a black walnut dining table. It will end up about 6.5 feet long, with a short black walnut base for sitting on the floor, japanese style. The wood came from a dead tree behind the movie theater. Katy also worked on a bunch of pendants (unsanded) among other things.

Here is a couple of pictures , a bunch of pear wood spoons getting oiled, a pile of black walnut in the carport drying. Katy finished a bunch of new pendants and earrings, including a richolite dyptic.

We had a nice weekend working on stuff and going to the farmers market. The pictures are of a green alabaster sculpture that Scott cut the base for and sketched on, a green alabaster bowl before and after and a couple chunks of claro walnut? for a bread bowl that was ordered. Ron George came over Friday to interview us for an article about the sawmill for the Times. Eric came over too to look at sculptures. We will be building some bases and hope to have some sculptures in the Framed Image soon.
